The Effects of Roadside Buildings Roof Shapes and Tree Plantings on the Vehicle Exhaust Gas Pollution Dispersion in the Urban Street

Abstract In this study, the effects of roadside building roof shapes and tree plantings on dispersion vehicle exhaust gas pollution in urban street have been carefully explored. Three typical shapes, i.e., flat, triangle round are considered present work. Firstly, numerical simulations air transport atmospheric turbulent boundary layer with/without vegetation canopy performed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Secondly, mean flow patterns distribution kinetic energy (TKE) then examined. Finally, concentrations It is found that could result a lower concentration canyon. The existence trees decrease concentration, although its influence much weaker than shape. also quite related to pattern TKE distribution. This study provide helpful guidance planners design future.
